Reflection
Reflection is when light bounces off an object. If the object is shiny (like glass, water or polished metal) the light will reflect at the same angle as it hits the surface. This is what we call specular reflection. There are many different types of reflection, this is just one example of them.

If you think about it, specular reflections are not the most complicated types of reflections, They simply just bounce off an object and keep travelling at an angle.
If you take a normal smooth glass object and set them up in some sort of order, light will go through all of them and keep bouncing off them. But light doesn't always bounce off one direction, it always goes in many many different ways. But beware! this could be affected by the smoothness and shape of the object the light is reflecting off of. |
