Diagonals
Diagonals in photography are diagonal lines which generally work well to draw the eye of an image’s viewer through the photograph. They create points of interest as they intersect with other lines and often give images depth by suggesting perspectives. Diagonal lines can also be used to add a dynamic feel and look. Diagonal lines are exactly the same as 'Leading Lines'. The only difference to the two is that the diagonal one is well, diagonal! Here, lemme show you some diagonal lines in an image...
The stairs' colors stand out from the majority of the image and therefore it makes us look at the different colored stairs which leads us to the old lady. This way this picture was taken was very smartly.It was taken in the right angle, at the right time, at the right moment...
I am amazed by how well this photo was framed. You can clearly see where the lines are (if you know what composition is) but other then that... I don't really know what this image means or where it is from. But it does look really cool. I am slowly starting to understand/see just how much of these shots are used in movies, because personally I have never really concentrated on the types of shots people use in movies.... and specifically how much.
